“It’s not WHERE you work, but WHO you work with that makes a job worth going to everyday”

Development of Our Future

Apprentices and Trainees are the most important resource to the future success and growth of our business.

We actively seek and encourage young people who want to learn about our business.  Every working day is about passing onto our younger team members our knowledge and skills to help them to develop their skills.

Our purpose is to teach them their trade skills, but also to develop the team, “Our Tribe” that will take this business to the next generation.

Time and effort

We make the time to show what’s required and how to do it.

This is not about 4 years of sweeping floors and doing menial repetitive tasks.  Our apprentices are expected to be on the tools within the first week of starting with us.

Adam makes himself available to follow up and give instructions.  He is a hands-on owner and likes to keep track of how our younger team members are developing.  We give each team member the opportunity to experience every aspect of this business, that’s how we find out what works best for everyone.

Training

We have built a strong relationship with the TAFE and teachers so that we are working alongside the modules being taught to ensure that on-the-job training with tradespeople follows TAFE training wherever possible.

Communication

We keep the lines of communication open between all parties that are involved in the development of our young team members, this includes parents, teachers, RTO, BRH management and tradespersons.  Support is important and this can only work if all parties are engaged in the process.

Adam, Kyle & Liam

The current and future Generation of BRH Steel Constructions

Adam learnt at the side of his father, Barry and in 2014 took over the ownership of BRH Steel Constructions from his parents.  He hoped that one of his 4 sons would like to follow in his footsteps but has always insisted that they could follow their own paths in life.  Adam is more than a little proud that his 2 older sons have decided to follow him and learn their craft in this family business.

Kyle is showing a natural ability to the details of his trade.  Kyle’s attention to detail is amazing and he is on a pathway to developing processes and procedures that will take BRH Steel Constructions into a stronger position for future growth.

Liam loves making things with his chosen medium.  This apple did not fall far from the tree.  Liam’s passion of fabrication and installation will see him become the strength of the future operational management.

The future of BRH Steel Constructions lies in very good hands with this father and sons’ team, and it’s security for the future generations to come.

Brad & Sarah

The Daughter and Dad

One learning her craft and the other will be delivering your steel to your door.

Sarah is coming towards the end of her Apprenticeship in Heavy Metal Fabrication and will look towards honing her skills in her trade.  She prefers working in the Workshop than going to Site.  We look forward to seeing Sarah round out her skills and becoming an in-house metal fabricator.

Brad, an experienced driver, is happy to be working closer to home and less long-distance driving.  Working for BRH Steel Constructions is allowing him to roll smoothly into his 30 year vacation, which is still a good few years off, but allows him to enjoy more time at home with his family as they now move into securing their own pathways in life.

Sharon & Riley

The Aunt and Nephew

Administration is kept in the Family – This team covers all the bases to keep our office running smoothly from Administration to Planning and everything in between.

Sharon has a rich working history covering positions from General Manager to Events/Project Management and brings that knowledge to our business.

Riley, while relativity new to BRH Steel Constructions, comes with a start in the Construction industry, but now is learning and working his way through to becoming a Draftsperson and eventually a Project Manager.
